What does hypnosis feel like?I promise you it’s not what you think! Forget what you’ve seen in the media and Hollywood. While the experience feels different for different people, I like to say you’re just going to feel relaxed and at ease. Some people feel a floating sensation, others don’t. Some people may feel sleepy, some don’t. But most people feel relaxed and at ease. What’s most important is to know that how you feel isn’t an indicator of how effective it is. Regardless of what it feels like – it’s working. I promise. Hypnosis is a completely natural state that we’re all in naturally every day, whether you realize it or not! We are just accessing a different set of brainwaves, where we bypass your logical conscious mind and tap into your subconscious mind. Your nervous system is relaxed, and your subconscious mind is alert.
-
How does hypnosis work?Again, forget everything you’ve seen about stage hypnosis. This is not that. This is in a therapeutic sense, and it is science, not magic. Hypnosis works by creating a burst of brain waves that are the same as when you’re in REM. That’s what allows you to access the subconscious mind. It’s very easy, and anyone can do it. You’ll understand how simple and easy it is when you do it!
-
Can I get “stuck” in hypnosis?Absolutely not! You have complete control the whole time. You can talk, move your body, get a tissue, even get up and leave (I’ve had clients who had to stop to use the bathroom or take their pet out!). If we get disconnected on Zoom, you may drift into sleep if you’re really relaxed, but eventually, you’ll notice that you’re not hearing my voice and open your eyes.
-
Can anyone be hypnotized?Hypnosis is a state of focus, concentration, and complete relaxation. When in a hypnotic state, brain waves are in an identical state to when falling asleep or waking up—when the mind is very relaxed. Everyone sleeps; therefore, everyone can be hypnotized. If a person feels safe and comfortable in the environment, hypnosis comes easily.
-
Is it difficult to be hypnotized?Hypnosis is powerful, effective, and 100% natural. A person does not have to try to be hypnotized. If you can follow directions and allow yourself to get into a hypnotic state, hypnosis will happen. There are many forms of hypnosis each of us are in every day, naturally.
-
Am I in control while under hypnosis?News stories, stage hypnosis shows and television have led some people to believe that when someone is under hypnosis, the person is completely under the hypnotherapist’s control. Nothing can be further from the truth. When hypnotized, a person feels relaxed and focused but is consciously aware. At any time, you can get up and walk away. You may even question, “Was I hypnotized?” Each time a person goes into a hypnotic state, that state tends to be deeper and easier to maintain.
-
Is being hypnotized the same as being asleep?People sometimes state, “I could hear every word you were saying,” or, “I felt like I could open my eyes if I wanted to.” It is important to recognize that hypnosis is not the same as being in a deep sleep—you are aware of everything around you, similar to meditation. In hypnosis, there is a stronger internal focus, plus a wonderful and deep relaxation taking place. When in a hypnotic state, the subconscious mind listens and accepts statements or visualizations that are in line with your goals.
-
How can you tell if you are hypnotized?Hypnosis is a natural state of mind and body. When in a hypnotic state, a person hears and remembers everything, including the noises around them, but they do not feel like moving. At such a relaxed time, the mind is open to suggestions. During hypnosis, a person has the conscious awareness of being awake, but the physical sensations of being asleep. They are still in control of their body and can open their eyes at any time. Because hypnosis is a natural state, a person may not even realize they are hypnotized. Individuals may even have different sensations from one session to the next. Each time one goes into a hypnotic state, a person will be able to reach deeper levels more quickly.
-
How “deep” will go? Or what if I can’t go “deep”?Don’t worry about how deep you’ll go. Forget about all that, it’s not important. The depth of trance is not linked to results at all. So don’t worry about “Am I deep enough?” Just tell yourself the truth – “This is working” and it will absolutely work. It is extremely powerful and effective.
-
Will I fall asleep during the session? Most definitely not! During the RTT session, we are talking the whole time. You are alert, awake and aware of everything going on.
-
Will you take control of my mind in hypnosis? No. You are in charge. I can’t make you do anything, and you cannot be taken into hypnosis against your will. It is your experience, I am just the guide and facilitator.
-
What if I can’t be hypnotized?Hate to break it to you, but you can. Everyone can. As long as you are open and willing to enter hypnosis, you will. It's an easy, enjoyable and totally relaxing process.
-
How long will it take for hypnosis to work?Give hypnosis the time it needs. Beneficial effects may happen immediately or may be slow, but by retraining the subconscious, results will happen. Years of bad habits cannot be broken in one visit. It may take time to achieve goals. If the tools and techniques taught are not used, hypnosis will not be as effective. You are in control of whether hypnosis will work or not. You will succeed if your best effort and time are given for your mind to change. Whatever the mind can conceive, the body can achieve. It is entirely up to you.
-
Does RTT actually work?Yes, it most definitely does!
-
How long does it take? The actual RTT session is 2 hours. The commitment following is only 20 minutes a day for 21 days. Instead of watching Netflix or scrolling on your phone, commit to changing your life for only 20 minutes a day! For my high-performance clients and our specific and unique program, we meet for 4 sessions, and then again listen to your recording every day for that month. And all recordings are yours for life!
-
Is regression part of it?Yes. Regression is part of RTT and is an incredible way to discover the source of your issue. You will not be re-experiencing anything, you will simply observe events or experiences you have had in your past. You can’t relive anything, you can only review. What you see may make you sad or joyful but either way, you will feel completely safe as we observe these scenes together. For my other package for high performers, no regression is involved, just positive re-conditioning and suggestions for your subconscious mind. There is an option to combine both RTT and your high-performance package.
-
What if I already know the reasons behind my problems? What makes RTT so incredible is that even if you think you know the reason, you see it in a COMPLETELY new way (and it actually might not be the reason you think). That’s what allows you to change the meaning and ultimately, change your beliefs. For many of my clients, they go back to scenes that they were not expecting at all and had no idea linked back to their current problem. Relax, and trust that your subconscious mind will show you exactly what you need to see. It always does. If you did know the real reason behind your problem, you probably would have fixed it by now.
-
How will I feel after the session?Everyone is different. It depends on how deeply you work; you might come out of your session energized and excited, or you may feel a sense of reflection and processing. It’s nice to give yourself time for integration and not rush to the next thing. You may continue to discover even more about yourself in the days and weeks following. I am here to support you through that. Whether you feel excited or reflective, you will always leave my sessions with a deeper understanding, freedom and empowerment.
-
Is everything confidential?Of course. All clients are assured of confidentiality about any disclosed material, in accordance with professional codes of ethics. I do not contact other practitioners or doctors who the client may also be under, without the client’s permission. I destroy inactive files after three years in order to assure clients total confidentiality.
-
Does it work on Zoom?Yes! I work almost exclusively on Zoom and it works perfectly. My clients love being in the comfort of their own space: on their couch/chair/bed. Your eyes are closed during the whole session, so you just need to hear my voice. My clients prefer Zoom for its intimacy and comfort. And there is no travel afterwards, you’re already in your own space as you transition out of the session.
-
How can RTT work in only 1 session?Hypnosis allows direct access to the 'reasons' you do what you do and react the way you react, saving you hours (even years) in talk therapy, where you are searching for the source. The source of your issues is usually based on an age-appropriate understanding. When you're able to observe yourself and these understandings with your adult understanding and compassion, it's relatively easy to let them go and move onto rewiring new beliefs aligned with who you are today that will help you move forward. Sometimes it can take more than one session per issue but as a rule, most issues only take one session. I don't want to waste either of our time which is why I treat it this way. *Please note some issues, like long-term depression & anxiety, can take several sessions.
-
What ages do you work with?10 years old to 80 years old (so far). It's important to note that no matter the age, my client must choose to work with me, not the parents, partner, or caregivers. And the issue being addressed must come from them, not the parents or partners.
-
What if I go back to painful and unpleasant scenes? If you go back to scenes from your life that are related to things like sexual or physical abuse, or other trauma, it’s important to remember that you are not reliving that scene, you are simply reviewing it and you are safe. I support you and I create a safe space for you to express your emotions and heal – I promise you, you’ll be ok.
-
When will I start to notice changes? There are 3 types of changes from Rapid Transformational Therapy – every person is different: 1. Immediate: You feel a massive shift right away – immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts, feelings and behaviors right after the session. 2. Cumulative: You see subtle, consistent shifts every day, or over time. 3. Retroactive: You don’t see the shifts right away and then one day you suddenly look back and see all of the things that are different in your life. You’ve been responding in whole new ways! You may experience a combination of all 3.
-
What if I want another session?RTT is designed to give you a powerful breakthrough and create big changes in your life. Some clients may need more than one RTT session on a particular issue; depending on how deep the issue is, it can take 3 sessions or more. Alternatively, many clients choose to come back to see me 6 months to a year later for another session on a different issue. After seeing the incredible, rapid shifts RTT brings you may want to continue to work on other areas of your life.
-
What happens in an RTT session?I start by putting you into a very relaxed state of hypnosis. You’re in control and you remember everything afterwards. In this relaxed state with access to your subconscious mind, we revisit scenes from your life which have everything to do with where your deeper beliefs (which are driving your current behaviours) came from. We are finding the root of your problem. Looking at these scenes through your adult eyes, you can give new meaning to them and let go of any irrational beliefs that you may have formed as a child. After looking over 3 to 5 scenes from your life and working together to understand their meaning for you, I then give your subconscious mind suggestions, upgrading you with new, helpful, supportive beliefs that are in line with what you want for yourself and your life today. I make you a powerful, personalized hypnosis recording that you listen to for at least 21 days. The mind learns through repetition, and by hearing these suggestions every day, you are programming yourself with habits of thought which will lead to the right habits of action.
